So I’ll be needing to pull off my “rally bar” for sanding/paint soon. This means I’m going to be without my LEDs for a while, which has me thinking I need to upgrade my factory headlights before I remove the bar/LEDs.
Question is, what to upgrade with?
Had good luck with these in the past:

Or something like these might be a great upgrade:

I currently use my bottom set of LEDs on my bar as low beam/fogs, they’re aimed low so they don’t bother other drivers, yet still offer better lighting than the OEM headlights. The top pair on the bar are used as high beams when more light is needed/no one is around.
The OEM headlights are garbage at best, dangerous in reality.
Update: Ordered a set of 100/80w Mtec Yellow bulbs.

Holy shit are they good. I can see again! Now with this and the exhaust issue out of the way, I can move on to other things, like designing strut spacers.

What are you using the LED bar for? Regular driving?

I use my bottom LEDs as fog lights:
They’re aimed low so they don’t tick off other drivers, yet they still offer better lighting than my OEM highbeams.
I use the top pair for high beams when I need to see further.

No real shortcuts on bulbs- LED put into halogen lamps are going to be terrible.
C an you figure out a simple bracket based on the license plate for one of those sets of LED while the bar is getting fixed?

Check the voltage at the bulb connector. The headlights on my Cherokee were laughably bad. Turns out that the OEM wiring was so bad the bulbs were only getting between 9 and 10 volts. After a rewire with larger gauge wiring and relays they're nice and bright!

Possibly. Although I’d rather not do that much work for something temporary.

I can easily check it out. They’ve always been bad on any of these I’ve owned though, so I doubt that’s the case.
We had an HID conversion in our other van, which was amazing for us, but terrible for other drivers. I swapped that one to 100w/80w yellow halogens with good luck.

Well, the wiring on the Cherokee was grossly undersized for the load, and with 20 years adding resistance to the circuit, it was garbage. I wouldn’t be the lease bit surprised if yours was similar seeing as how it’s also a Chrysler of the ‘90s.

I’ve run the Lasfit for a 2 years and been pleased. They are much brighter. The downside is they dazzle and you will need to lower the light aiming or you will get flashed. Also, the fans are somewhat noisy though not audible with fan and music on.

Was that Brickman?
He had a red late 90s Voayger IIRC, sold it not too long ago.
